Wind Tunnel Experimental Study on the Efficiency of Vertical-Axis Wind Turbines via Analysis of Blade Pitch Angle Influence

This paper presents results of experimental investigations and numerical simulations a vertical-axis H-type wind turbine, considering the influence propeller blade pitch angle on turbine characteristics. An innovative airfoil profile based modified symmetric NACA0015 was used as designed profile, which tested in tunnel over range Reynolds numbers from 50,000 to 300,000. The phenomenon angle-of-attack variation resulting forces acting blades, particularly horizontal configuration vertical axis rotation, were discussed. Series experiments conducted 1:1 scale four-bladed model determine characteristics, specifically power coefficient distribution tip speed ratio for various angles. Subsequently, modeled using Qblade software, series calculations performed under same conditions. validated with data.
